Great Southern Bank is expanding our brilliant new digital banking offering for small business customers, built digital from the start, using the best technology available to deliver a new take on small business banking. The Senior Product Manager will play an important role managing and enhancing our existing product offering through regular technology releases, as well as supporting customer acquisition and engagement. The role will also support the longer term product development roadmap which will build out our deposit, payment and loan offering for small businesses.

This exciting opportunity provides the fast-paced challenges of a start-up/scale-up within the solid foundations of one of Australia's largest member-owned banks. As a core member of the team, you will work closely with internal and external project teams to extend our offering. You'll be in on the ground-floor as we build out an innovative hybrid, partner-based model, and will play a key role in enhancing our proposition for growth. We're building out a full suite of products, with loads of breadth and challenges across the full suite. This role will mainly focus on transaction banking and working capital solutions.

This role will require you to leverage your expert-level product management experience manage our products across our innovative partner delivery model, working closely with technology partner counterparts. You will be responsible for driving customer growth, working in conjunction with our Growth teams to drive acquisition, and with our partner to deliver great customer experiences and strong economic returns.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading continuous delivery management through regular feature and platform updates for our existing Bank-in-a-Box products
  • Leading the development of new products on our roadmap
  • Day to day management of the products delivered as part of the new digital offering, including risk and compliance management across the ETE process and through our digital channels
  • Working closely with the bank's technology partner to define, develop, test and deliver products across the shared delivery model
  • Ensuring the SME Bank's product proposition remains competitive and attractive, and aligned to target segment needs, to drive growth
  • Work closely with the SME Growth, and Marketing and Digital teams to acquire and retain customers, through marketing activities and compelling digital experiences
  • Setting and monitoring product pricing, balancing acquisition, and profitability, to support the growth of the SME Bank
  • Monitor KPIs to improve future performance, undertake problem-solving and analysing/designing to identify improvements

A little bit about you

  • You have extensive experience in banking in Australia managing deposit and lending products sold to business customers and are keen to put your experience to work building something new
  • You understand the needs of small businesses, and what it takes to help them run their lives
  • You have managed products across the product lifecycle, and have successfully developed, launched and commercialised products
  • You obsess about delivering amazing customer experiences and never stop thinking about how to improve customer value propositions to win in the market
  • You have sound knowledge of technology and data with a key ability to understand the impacts of technology on banking products and services
  • You love digital, and using technology to simplify life for customers through innovative solutions that work seamlessly
  • You're adept at working in Agile delivery teams, and are comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, but understand that quality always matters
  • You build strong relationships with key internal partners like Marketing, Legal and Risk, and with external technology partners, in strong, collaborative teams
  • You understand the importance of compliance and extensive experience proactively implementing and managing controls to manage risk across ETE processes
