Position Purpose Statement

As a Senior Product Manager, you are the visionary and driving force behind a product's success. Your role is to define the strategic direction, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. You will leverage your deep understanding of the market, competitive landscape, and customer insights to craft a compelling product vision. Your leadership will inspire cross-functional teams, guiding them through the complexities of product development with a focus on delivering exceptional user experiences and measurable business outcomes.

Your responsibilities extend beyond strategy;
you are the glue that binds the execution process. You'll prioritize features, manage trade-offs, and ensure that engineering, design, and other key functions are aligned and resourced appropriately. Effective communication is paramount-you'll articulate the product's vision, progress, and impact to stakeholders at all levels, driving engagement and support. Your ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution will be crucial in navigating challenges and seizing opportunities to propel the product and the organization forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy and vision:
  • Define the ideal customer profile (ICP) and the primary jobs-to-be-done
  • Define success and set the north star metric and input metrics
  • Develop a deep understanding of competitive dynamics and effectively position the product against competitors
  • Identify key distribution channels and develop the business model and pricing the product
  • Continuous discovery, feature prioritisation &
    problem-solving:
  • Ensure the roadmap has the right set of trade-offs
  • Drive problem and solution discovery and determine the level and type of research required
  • Write and receive feedback on PRDs that clearly articulate primary features and product needs
  • Collaborate with product design and engineering to effectively solve worthwhile problems in novel ways
  • Organise/direct prioritisation sessions
  • Define the right metrics, get agreement on them, and then track and communicate them
  • Execution:
    timelines, resources, and removal of obstacles
  • Ensure engineering, design, and other key functions are properly resourced for the successful execution of your roadmap
  • Remove or prioritise features and provide a clear roadmap for execution
  • Ask "
    Stupid"
    questions to see if each function can reduce timelines or remove unneeded features or work
  • Push back on extraneous requests, whether internal (design, sales, etc.) or external (customers, partners)
  • Communication and Collaboration
  • Communicate team status, progress, obstacles, and functional sequencing to the rest of the organisation
  • Drive weekly/fortnightly team status meetings
  • Present to execs at regular product reviews
  • Pre and post-launch internal/external comms
  • Communicate the "
    Why"
    behind theproduct road map, prioritisation, and sequencing
  • Crisply articulate problems, solutions and business impact of features and initiatives in tight PRDs

Key Requirements

  • Proven Experience:
    5+ years in product management, preferably in B2B vertical SaaS environments.
  • Strategic Vision:
    Ability to define and drive a compelling product vision and strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Market Insight:
    Deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs in B2B SaaS.
  • Customer-Centric:
    Skilled at identifying and prioritising customer jobs-to-be-done and pain points.
  • Data-Driven:
    Proficiency in setting, tracking, and analysing key metrics to inform decision-making and measure success.
  • Execution Excellence:
    Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products on time.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving:
    Ability to think creatively and solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
  • Collaboration Skills:
    Exceptional ability to work with engineering, design, sales, and other key stakeholders.
  • Effective Communication:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating vision, strategy, and rationale clearly.
  • Adaptability:
    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with the ability to pivot as needed.
  • Leadership:
    Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards a common goal.
  • Educational Background:
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
    MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Information Security Accountabilities

Management:

- Determine and allocate the resources required to maintain and continuously improve the ISMS

- Ensure information Security requirements are communicated and understood across all levels of the business

- Ensure business activities support the security of information

- Promote the continuous improvement of information security

- Ensure changes to the ISMS are effectively communicated to the business and stakeholders

Senior Leaders:

- Ensure direct reports receive instructions that adequately describe the responsibilities for information security related to their job role

- Ensure direct reports receive training to maintain appropriate information security skills and knowledge required for their job role

- Ensure direct reports demonstrate the information security skills and knowledge required for their job role

- Ensure induction and training focus on the most relevant information security aspects for each job role

Employees:

- Understand own contribution to the effectiveness of the ISMS

- Understand own responsibilities within the ISMS (e.G. Acceptable of Use Assets Policy, Information Security Policy)

- Understand the consequences of non-compliance with the requirements of the ISMS
