About the Role:

Join our team as a Senior Product Design Engineer and take the lead in developing and delivering commercially viable and market-driven product design and engineering solutions. You'll play a crucial role in our success by creating high-quality designs specifically tailored for manufacturing, and collaborate with the wider Quad Lock team to deliver other related &
relevant merchandise and marketing projects &
activities.

As a key networker within our Design Team, you will maintain strong relationships with various departments to ensure the successful development and delivery of product design solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Develop commercially viable, creative, and consumer-focused product design solutions for Quad Lock's market segments.
• Manage concurrent design projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and commercial constraints.
• Identify and mitigate technical and functional risks, considering constraints and opportunities.
• Assist in conducting IP and patent searches as necessary.
• Prioritise conflicting requirements to determine optimal design directions.
• Engineer product design solutions with attention to design for manufacture (DFM) principles.
• Lead design reviews and provide mentorship to junior designers.
• Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure compliance with performance requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations and material selections aligned with performance targets.
• Review OTS test reports on pre-production product samples.
• Identify product design opportunities within existing and new market segments.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain feedback and quotations.
• Maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with the Sales and broader Quad Lock Team to identify product design opportunities in existing and new market segments.
• Ensure products adhere to visual brand language and styling guidelines.
• Coordinate packaging design solutions within specified parameters.
• Foster a positive and harmonious work environment within the design team.

What You'll Bring to the Role:

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative and consumer-driven product design solutions.
• Proven track record in collaborating with electronics &
  firmware/software teamsfor consumer, industrial, or IoT electronics products.
• Understanding of UX/UI development processes and tools for embedded software and mobile apps.
• Strong skills in interpreting and translating high-level product requirements into actionable design tasks.
• Proficiency in communicating design ideas through sketching, CAD modelling, and prototyping.
• Thorough understanding and application of design and engineering principles.
• Experience with DFM principles with the ability to apply these into practice when developing product design solutions.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for product design such as UL, FCC, CE, and RoHS.
• Effective planning, time management, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
• Ability to generate fully defined parametric 3D CAD models for manufacturing and illustrative purposes utilizing SolidWorks.
• Ability to assist with prototype fabrication and testing.
• Familiarity with risk analysis methodologies and statistical analysis.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and budgets.
• Strong attention to detail and openness to new ideas.
• Proven ability to provide technical support and collaborate across departments.
• Commitment to giving and receiving constructive feedback.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in developing products with BLE, NFC, and other wireless communications.
• Bachelor's degree in Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
