About This Opportunity

Working in the HCMS Program with the Senior Technical Manager, the Senior Principal Solution Architect will be responsible for collaborating with UQ's Information Technology Service (ITS) team, the selected vender's implementation teams, and internal program team to design and document the technical solution in keeping with existing enterprise architectural standards and technology strategies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with ITS and stakeholders to analyse business needs, identify value-add technical solutions, and design an integration plan.
  • Define and document the HCMS solution architecture, covering system interfaces, data, and infrastructure from a conceptual, logical, and technical basis.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, providing end-to-end architecture for the HCMS program.
  • Conduct design workshops, impact assessments, and develop detailed technical documentation, maintaining standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams, ensuring quality on-time delivery and quality integration testing.
  • Collaborate with Development teams to ensure that solutions delivered are aligned with the agreed Solution Architectures, that align with strategy, reference architectures, technology roadmaps and patterns.
  • Recommend solution choices according to minimal total cost of ownership optimising strategic content and delivery of enterprise roadmaps. Develop position papers as needed.
  • Promote cyber security practices, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies, whilst fostering effective relationships with stakeholders to deliver technology outcomes that provide business value.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31 December 2025.

At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,975 - $122,176, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $127,500 - $142,946 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Solution Architect roles, and broad technology experience across a range of cloud and on-premises platforms in a large enterprise. You will also demonstrate the ability to develop solutions based on requirements and work within budget and delivery timeframes.

Essential:

  • Experience designing &
    leading integration strategies and frameworks that align with program objectives and IT standards, of various enterprise systems (e.G. ERP, HCM, Payroll).
  • Good working knowledge of the Enterprise Architecture function and standard operating model.
  • Proven experience across the software development life cycle, design patterns and best practices
  • Proven experience with integration architectures (iPaaS, APIs, ETL, REST, JSON), major cloud platforms (AWS and Azure integration services) and database technologies, like SQL.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Willingness and ability to take responsibility, work well under pressure and manage conflicting demands.
  • Willingness and ability to innovate and adopt new processes and technologies to deliver excellent service and quality outcomes.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the higher education sector.
  • Experience designing an integrated solution between HCM, Payroll and Workforce Management.
