Senior or Experienced Intermediate Environmental Engineer

Tonkin + Taylor is seeking a qualified Senior or experienced Intermediate Environmental Engineer to join our growing, fun-loving and social, Waste &
Resource Recovery Team.This is a full-time position, based in our Southbank (Victoria) office, with flexible working options available.

• Environmental compliance for waste management facilities
• Waste strategy and circular economy planning
• Landfill and transfer station engineering design

The role:

We help our clients make good decisions based on robust environmental engineering in the waste and resource recovery sector. You will be working on projects such as:

• Landfill environmental monitoring and reporting
• Landfill gas risk assessments, mitigation and system design
• Landfill rehabilitation and development
• Landfill aftercare management
• A range of industrial facility risk assessments, management plans and operational control implementation

You will be working alongside several senior principal professionals who are keen to support and mentor you in your career ambitions. You will also have opportunities to work in waste strategy development, circular economy planning, landfill full-cost accounting, transfer station design, landfill design and planning, and waste facility strategy and business cases.

Our preferred candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil / environmental engineering or environmental science
• 5+ years of relevant environmental engineering industry experience
• Sound working knowledge of Victorian and national environmental legislation and guidelines
• Solid project management and client relationship management skills
• Strong communication skills, including writing reports and proposals
• Proven technical experience working in the waste management sector

Experience in any of our key strategic focus areas:
landfill gas management, remote waste management and strategy, transfer station design/management (not critical but would be looked upon favourably).
