Role purpose The key purpose of the Senior Operations Manager is to lead a team of specialists across multiple disciplines with the aim of delivering consistently exceptional standards across the property. Activity is focused on achieving compliance against applicable standards and legislation, maintaining the building and plant to best in class benchmarks, executing capital projects and providing a safe and secure environment. These core deliverables will be achieved through the development and execution of a well-considered operations and asset / plant strategies in line with the Chadstone Business Plan.
This position plays a crucial role in coordinating development interface activities in a challenging operational environment. A focus on ensuring new developments maintain, or enhance, the integrity of the existing asset, connect with existing building management systems, deliver compliance and safety outcomes while providing seamless, and safe, customer experiences. These requirements transition through planning, delivery and stabilisation phases of development programs.

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for retail, commercial and residential assets. Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve compliance for all essential safety measures requirements.

  • Create and execute an annual operations strategy that will inform team members workplans.

  • Review the asset life-cycle strategy on an annual basis and update in Anaplan as required.

  • Strive to exceed industry best practice for all health, safety, risk, security and crisis management activities.

  • Present the assets to the highest possible standard every day for retailers, consumers, and staff.

  • Develop and administer an operating and capital budget >
    $50M including associated planning and execution.

  • Manage planning, delivery and stabilisation activities for all development activity.

  • Oversee the administration of all operational contracts and ensure contract leads realise optimum value for expenditure and maintain quality documentation.

  • Deploy a robust programmed maintenance program to ensure the highest standards of asset reliability and presentation are achieved.

  • Liaise with the development and tenancy delivery teams to facilitate their requirements while achieving the best asset, retailer, and consumer outcomes.

  • Analyse information, trends, and data to develop quality management reports.

  • Establish quality standards aimed at exceeding customer and retailer expectations.

  • Represent Chadstone within the National Operations team.

Operating assets in the most sustainable financial and environmental manner will be a paramount consideration for all activity.

What will you bring?

You will be a leader with a track record of achieving exceptional outcomes by creating a high performing culture and focusing on the professional development of your team. You will have experience of at least five years in a role in the operations field that includes the management of retail and mixed-use assets over 150,000 sqm and overall responsibility for a budget >
$15M.

You will be a highly competent communicator that can maximise the effectiveness of cross functional teams with a focus on delivering best in class outcomes in a challenging, high-pressure environment. You will be comfortable in a role that is required to navigate complex and competing needs with an ability to prioritise activity to achieve the most important result.
