About the role
Roy Hill is currently seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join the Technical Services team based in Perth. The Planning Engineer will ensure the business is able to execute upon business objectives through detailed, practical mine development which supports production of a low variability high grade product to customers.

Duties

• Develop and publish regular revisions of the pit optimisations based on changing mine costs, economic parameters and sales requirements which optimise profit
• Develop detailed medium-term plans, ensuring compliance to approved LOM/Budget
• Develop and collaborate pit/stage development sequences with the integrated scheduling and mining teams to assist plan conformance and productive operations
• Ensure all pit, haul road, stockpile and waste dump (inclusive of in-pit back-fill) designs comply with company design standards and geotechnical parameters

Skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related discipline
• Demonstrated operational experience in the mining industry
• Experience of mine planning in an open cut, load &
  haul operation, developing and maintaining operational budgets
• Advanced computing skills including mining software (Vulcan, Alastri and other mine planning tools)
