Job Description
- Provide authoritative, practical, client-focused, and solutions-oriented legal, commercial, and probity advice to staff and management to identify and manage risks, supporting project success.
- Draft commercial agreements and contracts, modify precedents, and negotiate to resolve legal and commercial matters.
- Collaborate with the Legal &
Governance Team to ensure legal, governance, contractual, and procurement commitments and performance are effectively monitored and reported. - Contribute to team development and identify areas for improvement and efficiency's.
- Manage FOI requests (approximately one per year).
The Successful Applicant
- Experience in commercial, contract, procurement, intellectual property and governance law, including in a public sector context, in particular:
- contract drafting, negotiation and advice
- providing probity, legal and commercial advice and support for grants and procurement, particularly in a Victorian government context
- providing statutory compliance and governance advice and support and drafting internal policies, charters and governance documents
Specialist skills/Knowledge
- Law degree
- Experience in commercial, contract, intellectual property, public/administration, and governance law and practice, particularly in a public sector context.
