Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.

Our ESE group forms an integrated core that provides internal and external clients with outstanding project execution through our hydrotechnical, geotechnical, civil and geospatial expertise. The ESE provide services to all three main sectors within Hatch;
Bulk Metals, Infrastructure and Energy. From concept to operation, we're committed to providing traditional services alongside proprietary technologies and innovative thinking to deliver custom, cost-effective solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support growing water business through supporting the pursuits and proposals.
  • Work directly with senior engineers and technical teams in leading the execution of various ongoing projects.
  • Manage projects with direct communication with clients, sub consultants, and contractors.
  • Mentoring junior staff and foster a continuous learning environment
  • Project participation through active involvement in hydrotechnical related project work including consulting assignments, management and peer review, as appropriate.

You will bring to the role;

  • A degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
  • 10+ years in multi-discipline hydrotechnical projects.
  • Advanced understanding of the key principles of Infrastructure and Energy (hydropower, solar, wind and wave) and Mining such as dam safety, flood risk management, tailings storage facilities operations,.
  • Experience in water balance, hydrology and flood modelling related software such as GoldSim, TUFLOW, RORB, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, FLIKE and URBS is highly desirable
  • Proficient in GIS skills using ArcGIS and QGIS
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Applicants with CPEng and RPEQ/RPEV will be well regarded
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
