As a Senior Estimator (Electrical) you will be responsible for the preparation of tenders in various forms of project delivery.

Job Description

As a Senior Estimator (Electrical) your role will include the following:

• Review and check tender documents ensuring all tender documents received are correct.

• Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc. and provide feedback to the Bid Director/ Manager.

• Conduct site inspections for understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents.

• Formulate direct and indirect tender costs from first principle estimating methods into CCS Candy estimating software.

• Source subcontractors &
  suppliers capable of complying with tender in coordination with other Estimators.

• Obtain/ assess quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors, designers and prepare schedules for labour, plant, material and sub-contractor costs and comparisons.

• Organise &
  present to Senior Managers for tender cost &
  method review and complete approval process prior to submission.

• Compile letter of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender submission.

• Coordinate with Financial Director for costs to insurances and bonds.

• Mentoring young graduates and junior estimators.

• Assistance to regional manager in EOIs:
  prepare an EOI/tender budget, technical support, etc.

• Assistance to construction teams:
  claims, variations to the contract, alternatives.

• Keep up to date and abreast of industry factors that may impact on the business.

• Maintain and foster relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, clients and other business contacts.

• Forecasting and monitoring of costs. CCS Candy estimation.

Required Skills and Competencies

• 10 years plus Estimating experience in Infrastructure, Road, Rail and Building Construction

• Formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering preferable

• Advanced estimating skills using Candy and Expert estimating software

• Working knowledge of P6/ MS Project

• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies and planning

• Analytical skills with an eye for detail

• Advanced time management skills

• Working knowledge of Australian Standards /local regulations.
