As part of our ongoing growth and support to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) we are looking for an experienced Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer with experience in Vibration Testing to join our Structural Integrity (SI) Program.

This role will see you join the Vibration and Aeroelasticity (V&
A) team within the SI program. The core focus of this role aims to support analytical, test and evaluation, certification and sustainment needs for Aerospace Explosive Ordnance (EO) in support of the ADF.

Well-developed technical and analytical skills along with your ability to convey complex problems in simple terms and develop succinct and actionable recommendations for our customers will ensure your success in this role.

Day to day you will:

  • Support vibration related test activities.
  • Analyse and interrogate vibration data sets.
  • Develop technical reports, including your conclusions and recommendations.
  • Present your findings in technical reports and in presentations, internally &
    externally.
  • Develop your existing vibration skills through internal and external professional development opportunities.

Experience with MATLAB and/or Python will support you in this role that will see you manage and analyse large data sets. As will an interest or experience with project management processes.

As our ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical preferred).
  • Existing vibration test or vibration data analysis experience from a similar environment such as automotive vehicle dynamics, rail, maritime, civil construction or shock testing.
  • A technical authority or aspire to have technical leadership / authority responsibilities.

This role is Melbourne based and relocation is available for interstate candidates.

Your interest in developing your skills in the area of Vibration and Aeroelasticity will be supported by our team of leading experts and interesting projects.
