About the Role

Supporting the Lead Engineer, the Senior Engineer - Geotechnical Design (West) sits within Engineering and delivers geotechnical services, including geotechnical investigation and designs for road related structures, and develops innovative responses to complex problems. Critical to the role will be the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key clients and meet agreed budgets and timelines.

• Geotechnical Delivery - The Senior Engineer - Geotechnical Design (West) independently considers and recommends geotechnical solutions, including delivering geotechnical design services on time and on budget.
• Innovative Contributions - The incumbent has contributed expertise to their team by working on complex projects, undertaking complex technical investigations and making recommendations for action based on their field of expertise.
• Stakeholder Management - Effective working relationships with key clients and Engineering peers have been developed and effectively maintained.
• Engineering Support - Support is provided to other Engineering Branches as needed
• Geotechnical Contribution - The incumbent is an active contributor to a Community of Practice for Geotechnical matters.

The DTP is looking for an accomplished professional skilled in innovation, continuous improvement, and critical thinking to design and implement effective systems and solutions. The ideal candidate will manage projects efficiently, influence and persuade stakeholders, and maintain a strong customer focus. Proficiency in engineering, including stakeholder engagement and risk evaluation, is essential to deliver high-quality outcomes and innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering and relevant workplace experience
• Current Professional Engineering Registration in the field of civil engineering, as issued by the Victoria Business Authority
