Are you passionate about shaping strategic transport policy and influencing economic decision-making?
The Economic Research and Analysis team within TMR's Policy, Planning and Investment Division is seeking a Senior Economist to contribute to high-impact projects and policy development. You will play a crucial role in guiding Queensland's transport priorities through economic analysis, policy advice, and collaboration with stakeholders.

In the role of Senior Economist, some of your responsibilities will include:

- Contributing to the development of strategic transport policy by applying economic theory and concepts to the opportunities and challenges facing the transport system, including undertaking relevant research and analysis.
- Contributing to the development of high-level advice, cabinet submissions, research papers and briefs, economic reports, and policy documents for senior and executive management under tight timeframes.
- Working with stakeholders across the department, government, industry and academia to strengthen collaboration and support the development and implementation of strategic transport priorities, policies and projects.
- Providing advice and support to key business areas on approaches to quantitative modelling and economic analysis.
- Actively participating in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement and support the branch leadership as required.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Knowledge and relevant experience or qualifications in areas such as economics, business, commerce, data analysis, transport planning, financial analysis, forecasting and/or other related fields
- Demonstrated experience in economic analysis and modelling, data analysis and visualisation.
- Build and sustain relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customerfocused outcomes.
- Previous experience in providing written and verbal advice to support the development of executive-level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including strong analytical skills and ability to express complex ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team to deliver a program of work.
