As Senior Report Developer/Engineer, you'll be responsible for understanding data and transforming it into business value for stakeholders to meet business needs in accordance with strategic outcomes for our NSW Energy client.
You will provide technical leadership in driving sound design and development best practices and be responsible to create and maintain the physical data models, data definitions and data mappings that underpin the organisation's Data Platform and its associated BI Analytics and Reporting toolset.
You will also define and maintain the structure, quality, accuracy and accessibility of the organisation's data, enabling data-driven insights that support decision making. As the custodian of the Data Models in the Information Hub, you will support Project and BAU in understanding the Data in the Information Hub.
Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the definition, development and maintaining of data analytics solutions, including data visualisations
• Responsible for the definition, development, testing and deployment solutions to multiple environments using Data Vault methodologies;
  along with the creationand maintaining of technical documentation for these solutions
• Review and analyse systems to ensure adequate performance and maintenance, ensuring that data pipelines and data stores are efficient, organised and reliable
• Work collaboratively with data owners and business units to define and validate report requirements, develop models, procedures, and protocols for reporting in line with Guidelines and Frameworks (Architecture and Data Governance)
• Conduct analysis required to support business requirements, data profiling and analysis, data mapping, compile the results into business matrix and requirement documents.
• Conduct analysis of user requirements to design functional specifications for front-end applications and provide proactive improvement solutions that will assist the business in meeting their objectives.
• Identify, develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models, data mappings and transformations, data definitions, data quality, reports and dashboards. Working with Enterprise architecture on the alignment with Enterprise Data Models.
• Develop and maintain the Information Hub's Data Vault Data and IMT layers. Undertaking the custodian role of the data models that make up those layers.
• Assist with the establishment and on-going maintenance of security controls, knowledge management, education and awareness, continuous improvement, and risk management within the business

About You

• Degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Data Management or Software Engineering, or relevant field.
• Extensive experience with data architecture, data modelling, data warehouse design and data lake concepts and practices including data structure, data operation, data management and governance
• Exposure working in a Microsoft Azure Data Platform environment or equivalent environment
• Practical experience with translating business requirements into data solutions and physical data modes aligned to conceptual and logical reference data models
• Strong experience with Inmon / 3rd normal form
• Strong experience with Kimball modelling
• Strong experience with Databricks
• Experienced with SQL and Python, Scala would be advantageous
• Understanding of Power BI
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills.
