About the role:

  • Work closely with a leading partner with over 25 years of experience in technology-related legal issues.
  • Engage with clients both in Australia and internationally on issues like cyber security, emerging technologies, and technology transactions.
  • Act as lead on client matters, including drafting, negotiating, and preparing proposals, estimates, and pitches.
  • Advise legal teams, commercial clients, C-suite, and directors on data security, cyber, and technology transactions.
  • Manage cyber incidents and resilience, supporting all practice groups and industries on cyber-related matters.
  • Build and manage external client relationships, including business development activities.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior associates within the team and across the firm.


The ideal candidate:

  • Significant experience in private practice or similar roles, with a focus on data security, cyber, and technology transactions.
  • Strong interest in TMT and the evolving digital economy.
  • Admission to practice in Australia or New Zealand.
  • Proficient in complex legal drafting, negotiation, and project management.
  • Proven ability in business development and leading transactions.
