Senior Scientist - Contaminated Land
Are you based in WA or are you looking torelocate to WA?
We are looking for an experiencedContamination Specialist to join our team in Perth. This opportunity can also be based at our Margaret River office once training is complete after the first 6 months. Relocation Package available
This is an opportunity togrow and develop your career whilst working with a great team of environmentalengineers, scientists, geologists, hydrologists and hydrogeologists, providingcontaminated land assessment and remediation consulting on a wide range ofprojects.
ABOUT THE JOB
As Scientist/Senior Scientist -Contaminated Sites Consultant, you will:
- Manage field investigation programs andreview laboratory data, including tabulation and interpretation of analyticalresults to inform appropriate remedial and/or management requirements.
- Prepare technical reports forcontamination (PSI, SAQP, DSI, RAP, SRV) and Acid Sulfate Soils (ASSDMP,Closure Reports)
- Assist in HazMat surveys and HazMatclearance inspections and develop HazMat Management Plans (HMMPs) andclearance certificates.
- Develop human health and ecological riskassessments.
- Conceive, design and manage largeprojects;
- Evaluate/analyse field and technicaldata;
- Undertake andpresent independentstudies, analysis, interpretations, conclusions and decisions;
- Coordinate work programs and the use ofproject resources;
- Liaise with clients and regulators;
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will be tertiaryqualified in Environmental / Earth Science, Chemistry, Geology or arelated field who has;
- 3-10+ years' experience in ContaminatedSites / Remediation
- Experience in the assessment and remediationof contaminated sites in Australia and a sound working knowledge of NEPM 2013,HEPA 2020, DWER 2021 and DoH 2021 guidance;
- Experience ofAcid Sulfate Soils;
- Experience inHazMat Audit and RemovalsSupervision
- Excellent report and proposal writingskills with the ability to prepare;
technical reports; - Strong communication and stakeholdermanagement skills
- Desirable experience and qualifications:
- Certified Environmental Practitioner isdesirable
- Qualifications relating to asbestosmanagement is deemed to be favourable;
