Working within the Digital Strategy Division and reporting to the Director, Interoperability, the Senior Business Analyst will be accountable to perform complex work that provides detailed technical and professional business analysis, system analysis, and design changes that align with the vision and strategic direction of the Agency.
The role will exercise a considerable degree of independence, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes, technical infrastructure, and technical services;
the Senior Business Analyst will act as the conduit between the business units, and internal stakeholders that will include the IT business management, solutions development and solutions implementation functional teams within the Agency and with relevant stakeholders from the Health sector.
Key responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Provide expertise across a broad range of activities relating to the work of different program areas.
  • Recommend strategic directions for area of responsibility and consider wider agency implications when making decisions.
  • Accountable to lead the analysis of business needs across a complex portfolio of new and existing Interoperability initiatives;
    taking responsibility for setting tasks and priorities;
    managing workflow to understand dependencies.
  • Seek and facilitate contributions to business and project requirements through workshops and feedback systems to ensure a consultative and coordinated solution co-design.
  • Plan and monitor work processes, direct and coordinate quality assurance practices and set performance indicators.
  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation.

In addition, key experience, knowledge and skills include:

  • At least 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience working as a business analyst on healthcare projects or government policy projects is an advantage.
  • Scrum or Agile training and qualifications.
  • Ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships, working across multiple teams.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.
