Senior Business Analyst - Utilities

• Looking for a Senior BA to join a leading Government client specialising in Utilities to work across multiple large-scale projects.
• 12 month day rate contract paying up to $850 plus Super per day, in Sydney with WFH flex.
• Ideal background across any utilities industry experience.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a deep understanding of the utilities industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading requirement gathering initiatives, stakeholder management, and conducting Human-Centered Design (HCD) workshops. This role is pivotal in driving our product development and service delivery strategies, ensuring alignment with industry trends and client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
• Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
• Facilitate Human-Centered Design workshops to enhance user experience and product usability.
• Develop comprehensive project documentation including business cases, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
• Provide expert guidance and insights on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements within the utilities sector.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Business Analyst in the utilities, water, metering, energy, or electricity sectors.
• Experience across Asset Investment Planning or Enterprise Asset Management is advantageous
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into functional requirements.
• Experience in stakeholder management and conducting workshops to gather and prioritise requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas and information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and a strong attention to detail.
