About the Role

As a Senior BESS Engineer, you will spearhead the design and execution of Battery Storage projects from initial concept through to final implementation. This role demands a comprehensive knowledge of battery technologies and electrical systems, along with a strong design acumen using design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and electrical design tools to develop detailed plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and design phases of BESS projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations
• Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, and engineering plans for battery storage systems
• Collaborate with project managers to establish project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine the optimal configuration and placement of battery storage systems
• Create comprehensive engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications for BESS components, including batteries, inverters, control systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Develop preliminary design concepts and layouts, including initial system sizing calculations and energy storage needs assessment
• Create conceptual drawings and high-level system architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field (preference to Electrical background)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS), with a proven track record of successfully delivering utility-scale projects
• In-depth knowledge of various energy storage technologies and related components
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and grid integration
• Understanding in engineering software/tools for design and simulation of battery systems
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interfacing with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset and the ability to approach challenges creatively and analytically
