We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Senior Associate - Impact Lending to join a collaborative and professional Impact Lending department. The Senior Associate will report to the Senior Manager - Impact Lending.

The Senior Associate will be responsible for financing businesses and organisations committed to driving positive, social, environmental and cultural outcomes. The Senior Associate will work closely with our Senior Impact Finance Managers to develop and execute lending solutions that contribute to creating positive impact. The role will be required to undertake detailed credit analysis, execute transactions from credit assessment through to financial close and perform ongoing portfolio monitoring. The Bank has a focus on the providing funding for projects that deliver inclusive and affordable housing thus experience in property finance is considered an advantage.

What you will be doing

  • Prepare credit papers and recommendations focusing on deep financial/risk analysis for complex transactions and present these to the Bank's credit decisioning managers
  • Recommend and complete due diligence appropriate for the type of lending including the review of independent expert reports
  • Negotiate and execute legal documentation working with the Bank's external legal counsel
  • Ensure all aspects of the credit process are adhered to including regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Manages ongoing portfolio requirements including covenant monitoring and annual reviews
  • Support Relationship Managers with building partnerships in the Bank's priority impact areas
  • Contribute to strong continuous improvement culture and develop knowledge and expertise within the Banks target segments.

What you will bring

  • Experience in commercial or corporate banking or related field is essential
  • Previous relevant solid experience working in a similar role with demonstrated experience in credit analysis and preparing credit submissions
  • Established commercial acumen with a proven track record of building strong relationships

  • Knowledge or experience in property finance or sustainable finance would be advantageous.
  • Passion and drive to contribute to solutions which create social and environmental impact
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
