Senior Associate - Corporate & Commercial Lawyer (Health & Medical)

Here is a great opportunity for an experienced Associate or Senior Associate level Corporate &
Commercial Lawyer. Someone who wants to keep things interesting with variety in the technical content of their work, but also wants to hone in their career and focus their practice within a sector with stable workloads and high fees. A solid career-orienting move.

This national mid-tier firm is a pre-eminent player in the Healthcare sector with a substantial client base spanning Hospitals, Private Medical, Pharma, Allied Health and Dental groups across Australia. They also provide a retained outsourced-in-house legal function for some clients, and this is a good opportunity for a Lawyer who wants more involvement in broader commercial aspects of the business.

Some clients here are large publicly-listed organisations, others are smaller solo-practitioner professionals, and everything else in between. On any one day you could be working on a partnership or shareholder agreement, a corporate M&
A deal, a restructure ofa network of medical practices, drafting of services contracts, IP and trademark matters, property transactions or lease agreements.

You might not have experience across all of these areas and that is fine. The National Practice Leader, based in Melbourne, is an engaged and enthusiastic mentor, and a lovely guy. Our focus is to find the right person with the right attitude, someone who wants to continue learning and likes the technical challenge of being in a varied practice.

There is an abundance of work coming through without doing any active BD and this means there are a couple of ways we can go with this appointment:

• A high-end Associate or Senior Associate to be a safe pair of hands and take responsibility for running their own matters. Someone who wants a technical challenge and to be part of a well-supported team with collaborative working style.
• A high-end Senior Associate who is looking to grow a practice for themself. You will get a 'soft landing' here with a full workload provided and no KPIs around BD, but there is an abundance of under-tapped client relationships available for you to further leverage and make the case for Partnership.
