The Opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for a dynamic candidate to join our impressive and highly regarded Commonwealth Government practice as a Senior Associate. The work is highly varied - it includes both front-end and back-end work;
it traverses practice areas that include commercial, construction, infrastructure and procurement;
and its clients includegovernment entities (Commonwealth, State and local) and private-sector entities.

You will have great written skills, a sharp eye for detail, the ability to work well autonomously, while also enjoying collaborating with the broader team. Able to think strategically, make valuable contributions and bring great ideas to the table to help deliver an optimal experience to our clients. This role is for those who have a hunger to learn and wish to excel.

Scope of role:

The successful candidate will be engaged in:

  • Direct client access.
  • Working closely with Alex Ottaway and other fee-earners.
  • Supportive training and mentoring.
  • Advising top-tier clients on liability, strategy and risk management.
  • Ability to analyse information and provide concise, pragmatic and adaptable legal advice.

Skills and Experience required for this role include the following:

Specific skills and experience for this role include:

  • 4+ years PAE.
  • Analytical skills and legal reasoning.
  • Proficiency in commercial, construction and contract law.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Hunger to learn.
  • Solid work ethic.
  • Drive to contribute to the success of the team and firm.
  • Interest in marketing and BD (eg preparing and delivering client presentations).
