We're growing and we are looking to add a Senior Applied Data Scientist to our fast-paced and customer-oriented Engineering team.
Location:
We're a remote-first company and looking to hire this person anywhere between the PST - EST timezone in Canada.

In this role, you will:
- Use large-scale data to create and deliver data, models, and insights to brands that are looking to grow their business on Amazon
- Create new analytical products and see them from conception to prototype to scaling in production
- Work hands-on to perform analysis, build machine learning pipelines, and evaluate the performance of your solution in production
- Be embedded with an engineering team to develop and scale successful solutions to production
- Scope and define new business problems in the area of Amazon competitive intelligence, including market, traffic, and advertising analytics.
- Support existing machine learning systems that serve millions of predictions per day
You will excel in this role, if you have:
- This isn't your first rodeo!
- You have a minimum of 5+ years of professional industry experience or equivalent with a Master's or PhD.
- You are skilled in machine learning best practices with a strong statistical background.
- You have experience conceptualizing, building, and deploying algorithms and models to production working alongside machine learning engineers.
- You have experience translating customer needs to data problems.
- You have experience working in the software development lifecycle using version control, CI/CD, and multiple environments.
- A strong toolbelt!
- You have a strong command of SQL.
- You have technical skills in Python.
- You have experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- . Experience presenting clear analysis and conclusions to a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Interest in Amazon. Deep curiosity about data and the Amazon domain.

Adaptable. Comfort dealing with ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and adjusting your plans as you learn. - Bonus:
- Experience with other AWS services like EC2 and Cloudwatch.
- Experience with Spark, Sagemaker, S3, Athena.
- Proficiency in Jupyter notebooks.
