About the Opportunity:

Reporting into the Integration Developer Leader, the Senior API Engineer will write code needed for EnergyAustralia's systems to integrate with each other, and with external providers. You will provide technical guidance along with the following responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions to the intended solution architecture for Integration using API framework.
  • Drive a test-driven and quality-led culture by building systems that prove their correctness using TDD, BDD, CI/CD and automation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of server-side architecture, RESTful API design
  • Work under the direction of the Scrum Master and Integration Product Owners from a day to day perspective, with technical and career direction provided by the Integration Technical Leader
  • Ensures that documentation is produced for solutions built by Integration to enable the team to support the solutions in production and for future change.
  • Works closely with UX and BA resources to ensure outcomes are met when developing solutions.

About You:

You will be joining a team dedicated to delivering resilient, reliable and scalable solutions that support the wider organisation and our over 2 million customers. To be successful in this role you will need some of the following experience:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems or formal training through a focused, reputable provider (eg. General Assembly)
  • 5+ years in developing solutions for Integration products along with strong development skills in one or more of the following:
    • Javascript/Typescript
    • NodeJS
    • Python
    • Apollo GraphQL
    • Azure DevOps Pipeline (Preferred)
  • 2+ years' experience building solutions that are cloud-based, and highly available and performant
  • Experience using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Gitlab/Github/Bitbucket highly desirable
  • Experience building solutions using RESTful interfaces, or experience with integrating with third party solutions
  • Experience building mobile applications, or digital applications designed for mobile
  • Experience integrating with CMS' such as Drupal, Sitecore, Kentico, Adobe or others
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum processes
