The Australia Sector has more than 1,200 employees operating across four countries, namely Australia, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Due to our continued growth, we are excited to announce we are now recruiting for an experienced Sector Data Officer. This newly created role will work with the Head of Business Services and CIO to support the delivery of QinetiQ Australia's data strategy within each region, ensuring compliance with local regulations and acting as a liaison between the group level data office and regional teams.

As the Sector Data Officer, you will be accountable for:

• Developing the Sector Data Strategies and Roadmaps
• Designing and developing optimised data pipelines to collect, process and manage large volumes of structured and unstructured data
• Designing and developing data products for data analytics and Business Intelligence to assist in Data Driven Decision making
• Implementing best practices for data quality assurance, data governance and data security to ensure the integrity of the data
• Contributing to and maintaining QinetiQ's group data Architecture

This role will suit someone who is curious, an excellent problem solver with the ability to engage and influence.

You will also bring with you:

• Degree qualification in a relevant field and/or proven experience working in a similar role
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise data mapping and architecture
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data into meaningful information for decision makers
• Experience working with/in Cloud ecosystems, such as Azure, AWS, etc.
• Experience working within compliance frameworks, such as UK's Cyber Essentials (Plus), Australia's ISM, NIST, ISO27001, ITAR and export control.

Candidates can be based in Canberra, Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
