About the Role
Based in the Illawarra, and working within our longstanding BlueScope Plant Maintenance Contract, an opportunity exists for a dynamic and committed individual to join Ventia and the PCI (Pulverised Coal Injection) &
Blast Furnace 5 Team in the role of Reliability Engineer to improve the maintenance strategies, engineering documentation and spares management at the PCI plant.

The Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) Plant provides fuel that is essential to No.5 Blast Furnace and will provide fuel to the No.6 Blast Furnace once it is commissioned. The PCI Plant is an integral part of our supply chain operations. This role is critical in ensuring reliability skills and competency of the maintenance team is built and maintained.

Key accountabilities of the position include:

• Plant Reliability &
  Performance:
  Report on plant maintenance performance indicators, consistent with OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and review progress against targets.
• Strategy Development and Review:
  Lead the departments asset strategy development and review process to ensure maintenance practices are effective and aligned to operational requirements.
• Team Development:
  Coach and mentor a Defect Elimination mindset in the maintenance team
• Budgets &
  Cost:
  Prepare R&
  M budget for your area of responsibility accompanied by forecasting and monitoring expenditure

The Person
You are someone who has a proven experience in a similar role, or alternatively you could be looking to take the next step in your career. You will possess sound maintenance experience, combined with a passion and capability to improve the maintenance strategies, engineering documentation and spares management at the PCI plant

To be successful in this role the following qualification, licences, skills and experience is required:

• Sound knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance, KT, RCA, Defect Elimination, Lean (5S) methodologies.
• Financial awareness and budgeting processing experience A good understanding or interest in Industry 4.0. Inclusive of Digital Transformation, Digital Twins, IOT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence) &
  Machine Learning.
• Thorough understanding of BlueScope's Safety, Environment &
  Risk Management Systems
• Sound knowledge of condition monitoring techniques (e.G., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).
• Ability to identify and drive process improvements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to implementation.
• Proficiency in SAP maintenance components. Proficient with Microsoft Office including MS Project and Excel.
