Facility Overview:
Lake Cargelligo is home to a local multipurpose service facility that provides 24-hour accident and emergency care. The facility includes a 22-bed capacity, divided into 6 acute care beds and 16 residential aged care beds. Additional services include allied health and community nursing support for residents.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team in Lake Cargelligo. This role is critical in providing high-quality emergency care to patients and supporting the overall function of the multipurpose service facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and patient care.
Perform thorough patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor patient progress.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while observing for any adverse reactions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including allied health professionals and community nursing staff, to deliver coordinated care.
Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including trauma, medical emergencies, and acute care needs.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring all documentation is up to date and complies with legal and regulatory standards.
Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
Participate in continuous professional development and training activities.
Requirements:
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
ALS, PALS, Triage &
Resuscitation
Demonstrated experience in an emergency department or acute care setting.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions.
Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Additional Information:
Shared on-site accommodation is provided, which includes a kitchen, bathroom, and private bedroom.
Travel allowance reimbursed.
