About the Role

The Rail Performance and Commercial Analyst position sits within Public Transport and is responsible for leading the identification, analysis and interpretation of performance and reliability data and validating this data against contract requirements. The role will develop comprehensive, high quality reports on complex data sources to support contract and asset management. The role will also be accountable for conducting operational performance trend analysis, overlaying patronage, customer complaints, faults, and rolling stock data, to provide comprehensive performance insights and advice.
Moreover, the Rail Performance and Commercial Analyst will proactively identify and track performance risks and issues related to the contractual deliverables and obligations of the Franchisee in accordance with the MR4 Franchise Agreement, including providing support to the Manager, Rail Performance and Commercial for management of the Enhanced Operational Performance Regime (EOPR) incentive regime and the Passenger Experience Regime (PXR) abatement regime, contribute to Ministerial correspondence and briefings, and reviewing Master Timetable changes and operator requests related to journey time increases in collaboration with DTP stakeholders.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

- Effective Reporting - Effectively managed public transport reporting needs, including technical data analysis and modelling, requirements gathering, translating into long-term, flexible business intelligence reporting.
- Expert Advice - Successfully prepared, reviewed and analysed technical data from multiple sources and various reporting tools and predictive models to provide expert advice in relation to the management of the commercial contract.
- Performance Management -Managed operator performance and address areas of underperformance. Support the development, implementation and monitoring of performance regimes and required adjustments to drive increased value.
- Effective Communications - PreparePrep high-quality commercial analyses, briefs and correspondence on complex issues and provided sound advice on contractual obligations and contractual mechanisms relevant to emerging issues.
- Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

Qualifications and Experience


Mandatory
- Experience in data modelling and analysis, project controls and/or systems integration.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, computer science, economics, business, or a related field.

Desirable
- Experience in commercial analysis and contractual management.
