Saferoads is a reputable ASX listed company specialising in improving road safety through the design and manufacturing of a variety of innovative products. Headquartered in Pakenham, Victoria, Saferoads services customers Australia wide, as well as in New Zealand, North America and Canada.

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced and self-motivated Branch Manager to join our newest business division in a start-up Queensland division to promote our unique range of road safety products, including barriers, VMS, light towers, guide posts and more, in both a sales and rental capacity. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the QLD Branch Manager position is a key role within the business, responsible for servicing existing customers and developing new business opportunities with major projects, councils, civil construction companies, traffic and event management companies throughout the state.

We are seeking applicants with a proven track record in business development and sales management, operational disciplines and preferably with experience with local government authorities, councils and road construction organisations. Territory management and personnel management experience with previous industry networks in civil infrastructure, mining and/or government would also be desirable. This business is set for some exciting growth in the next 12 months with the recent introduction of innovative new products, so a fantastic opportunity awaits the right candidate.

Key Focus Areas

  • Develop and achieve a business plan and budget for QLD branch, for both product sales and rental;
    role has full responsibility for branch performance
  • Work within and lead a team to drive and ensure profitable sales and throughput to supply and/or installation to meet customer requirements and satisfaction
  • Grow and nurture existing customer base, actively pursue new potential customers and build alliances with key industry groups, Record customer contact and planned contact activities within CRM as required
  • Inspire and lead team, ensure effective performance management, elevate team morale and build a positive culture
  • Generate reports as required and provide feedback on industry and competitor issues, e.G. pricing, market demands, etc.
  • This role will see the successful candidate on regular site visits throughout Brisbane and regional Queensland and requires night shift on occasion

Skills &
Experience Required

  • Proven experience in management and/or sales/ business development
  • Proven ability to succeed in a competitive market
  • Develop and achieve a business plan and budget for Victorian rental branch;
    role has full responsibility for branch performance
  • Strong sales / BDM abilities, to grow customer base and drive sales growth
  • Prior exposure and experience with contracts / commercial dealings in contractor market
  • Prior experience and track record in a branch management or similar role
  • Understanding / experience in civil construction / road safety industry
  • Deep understanding of financial performance and budgeting concepts, including capital expenditure
  • Understanding of team management and employment law in Australia
  • Business strategy / planning
  • Knowledge of basic IT and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Strong sales and business development skills, with demonstrated history of success
  • Ability to interpret market trends and data, present business cases, assisting in driving and substantiating capital expenditure decisions
