What You’ll Be Doing
Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary care team to provide exemplary care for prisoners facing psychological distress and/or functional impairment.
Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and utilizing them to develop tailored treatment and management plans for individuals at risk of self-harm.
Offering individual counseling and/or group therapy to prisoners with current psychological needs.
Crafting accurate and defensible documentation, including progress notes, formulations, and treatment plans.
About You - Your Ideal Skills &
Experience
Strong grasp of evidence-based practices in assessing and intervening with diverse psychological and behavioral presentations.
Demonstrated experience in providing individual counseling, ideally within a correctional, welfare, or similar institutional setting.
Proven ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver psychological services and programs.
Exceptional report writing skills, producing accurate and defendable documentation.
If you are applying as a psychologist:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology (BPsych or BAPsych-Honours);
OR Master's Degree in Psychology (Forensic, Clinical, Counselling);
AND full registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Association (AHPRA).
If you are applying as a Social Worker:
Bachelor’s degree in social work;
AND eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
