Mater Young Adult Support Unit, Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane is looking for a Staff Specialist, Psychiatry to join the team. This maximum term (until July 2025), part-time role (20 hours per week) will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you'll be doing

• Ensure safe high quality care is delivered to every patient every time
• Works effectively in a team with adolescent medicine, psychology, social work, nursing
• Contribution to medical governance specific to psychiatry
• Involvement in the evidence-based identification and prioritisation of clinical practice improvements that ensure translation of research and evidence into practice
• Recognises and addresses inefficiencies in own service provision, and continuously improves these
• Supports a culture of research innovation and an environment that drives and actively encourages internationally recognised research
• Commits to mentoring clinical professionals and supports undergraduate and postgraduate training as well as research
• Supports the facility-based leaders in their analysis, monitoring and facilitation of compliance of the clinical workforce with relevant legislation, clinical standards, safety and quality systems and other statutory or contractual requirements
• Provides mentoring to junior doctors using timely, consistent and clear communication that deepens interprofessional cohesion and engagement within and across teams
• Effectively represents, negotiates with and influences colleagues and peers to catalyse and embed change outside own hierarchy
• Effectively manages key relationships across peers and clients throughout Mater, across service streams and functions
• Ensures development and succession plans are in place and actioned for own role and those of direct reports

About you

• Registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA
• Fellow of RANZCP
• Advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (desirable but not mandatory)
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
