THE COMPANY

tunnels that sustain and enhance the environment in which we live. They have the unique capacity to provide long-term technical in-house operations and maintenance support to their clients and specialise in delivering Major Projects across the M&
E space. They partner with some of the world's largest blue-chip companies, government agencies, private enterprise, and public institutions and they are currently seeking a Project Director (M&
E) in Victoria for one their 3 Projects in their Major Projects Pipeline (Projects ranging $280m-$340m)

THE ROLE
The Project Director's primary purpose is to provide direction and leadership to the designated project leadership team. This role will be responsible to lead the Project on time and within budget, including responsibility for delivery of design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Reporting to the National M&
E Director some of your responsibilities will include;

  • Implementall safety and accreditation requirements in the design and construction of the designated project.
  • Accept Contract(s) and prepare project budget.
  • Ensure Contract Quality Plan (CQP) for Projects are prepared for approval by Engineering Manager and, if required by the contract, obtain customer approval
  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan on assigned projects
  • Manage the planning of all project activities necessary to complete the project.
  • Control progress in accordance with the project programme, and preparation of progress reports.
  • Manage all contract administration processes for the project
  • Control project procurement and approve purchasing for the Project
  • Ensure that safety measures and systems are implemented on projects in accordance with current legislation, Company policy and customer safety requirements
  • Ensure that projects comply with current environmental legislation and customer environmental requirements.
  • Maintain satisfactory Industrial Relations on projects
  • Control project costs and accuracy of contract reviews.
  • Support &
    maintain a health &
    safety workplace and for adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards for the workplace.

ABOUT YOU

  • Leadership and overall management skills appropriate to a major overall infrastructure project.
  • Must possess a recognised qualification and have a min of 15 years experience in the design, construction, and project management of large M&
    E projects like the Project Works and Temporary Works
  • Extensive project management skills in all aspects of project delivery, including planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, construction, testing and commissioning of a multi-disciplinary environment with many and diversified stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven experience in contract management and negotiation techniques and tactics.
  • Proficient in application and implementation of Value Engineering techniques.
  • Proficient at preparing and making high level presentations to senior client and management personnel.
  • Must be stakeholder focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
