  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University


About the Position


School of Accounting, Information Systems and Supply Chain (AISSC) with the College of Business and Law is looking to recruit a senior academic and eminent researcher in Accounting, to contribute to significantly to teaching and research outputs, building capability of staff and promoting strong academic performance.


We are seeking to appoint someone who, in addition to being able to demonstrate research and teaching excellence, can demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking, a high level of industry engagement and the ability to attract external grant funding. Applicants should have extensive experience supervising Higher Degree by Research students to completion.


About You


To be successful in this position, you'll have:



  • PhD in Accounting;

  • Demonstrated ability to manage award program/s and lead program reviews;

  • Demonstrated distinction at the national level and an internationally recognised research track record;

  • Proven ability to sustain and grow research groups through the attraction of external funding;

  • Extensiveexperience in attracting and supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance;

  • Demonstrated ability to lead improvement of academic standards, including implementing best practice teaching strategies and dissemination of innovative practice;

  • Evidence of demonstrated strategic leadership in a large organisational unit or University-wide initiative and effective membership of a management team that developed and achieved shared goals and objective;

  • Demonstrated experience in financial, governance and quality management systems within a University, together with a proven track record of close links with the accounting profession and the accounting professional bodies;
    and
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.

Supply Chain (AISSC)


Launched in April 2020, the School of Accounting, Information Systems and Supply Chain is an innovative new school, offering our students unique courses and subjects in line with the changing needs of industry.


Bringing together what was two separate entities, the School of Accounting and the School of Business IT and Logistics, the new school is a leader in cross-disciplinary collaboration between accounting and technology, with increasing research outputs across all disciplines.


We will continue to establish and develop innovative research projects, strong industry connections, and unique discipline areas driven by experts of the field, professional partners and leading academics. Our key teaching areas are arranged across our four Departments;
Accounting, InformationSystems and Business Analytics, Financial Planning and Taxation, and Supply Chain and Logistics.
