Eden Ritchie is seeking a Procurement Manager who will be accountable for procuring a specific piece of complex, high risk and high value medical equipment, in accordance with broader Department vision, governance requirements and the Queensland Government Procurement Policy.

  • 12 month contract with possible extension
  • Bowen Hills and Brisbane City location

As the Procurement Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work collaboratively with project directors, consultants, project officers and key stakeholders to facilitate the coordination of construction and design components.
  • Liaise and negotiate with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders about specific requirements for the project and ensure these requirements meet the business needs and organisational objectives.
  • Lead the design, development and implementation of the procurement strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders that deliver long-term value and benefits to the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies that minimise risk and maximise value, in compliance with procurement legislation, policy and industry regulations.
  • Develop and maintain outstanding relationships with key supplier and customer stakeholders to drive better value outcomes and maximise benefits.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and networks, through liaison with a range of stakeholders including other teams, peers, and colleagues across the organisation, and in other organisations.
  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Act as a role model in accordance with Queensland Public Service, Corporate Services Division and P&
    SCO (Procurement &
    Supply Chain Optimisation) Portfolio values.

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Undertakes objective, systematic analysis and draws accurate conclusions based on evidence.
  • Evaluates projects to understand critical factors for success and engages in activities whilst dealing positively with uncertainty and coping effectively in an environment characterised by change.
  • Constructs and delivers against project plans that have clear and appropriate goals and timeframes, whilst managing competing priorities.
  • Builds and sustains relationships with a network of key people internally and externally. Works collaboratively and operates as an effective team member.
  • Addresses underperformance promptly, identifies causes and agrees on improvement targets.
  • Acts professionally and impartially at all times and operates within the boundaries of organisational processes and legal and policy constraints. Takes responsibility for mistakes and learns from them.
  • Takes personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work. Shows initiative and proactively steps in and does what is required.
  • Confidently presents messages in a clear, concise, and articulate manner. Seeks to understand the audience and tailor's communication style and message accordingly.
  • Approaches negotiations with a strong grasp of the key issues and the organisations objectives and desired outcomes, having prepared in advance.
  • Demonstrated experience building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading high value, high risk and complex negotiations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex strategic capital procurement projects, supporting internal customers in the development of complex specifications, and ensuring materials / services are delivered according to contract.
