My client is a leading multidisciplinary consultancy firm dedicated to providing sustainable solutions for their clients. They are currently seeking a Principal Ecologist or Zoologist based in Perth, Australia. They strongly value the talent their employees bring and are dedicated in supporting their innovative ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ecological assessments, surveys, and impact assessments.
  • Provide expert advice on ecological matters to clients and internal teams.
  • Undertake fieldwork, data collection, and analysis to support ecological studies.
  • Develop and implement biodiversity conservation plans and strategies.
  • Manage and mentor junior ecologists within the team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate ecological considerations into projects.
  • Stay updated on relevant environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and documentation for regulatory submissions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in ecological consulting, with a proven track record of project management.
  • Strong knowledge of local flora and fauna, ecosystems, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience in conducting ecological impact assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of ecologists.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software for data analysis and mapping.
