About Chairo
Founded by Christian parents who felt passionately about providing for their children an integrated Christ-centred education that was consistent with the values they held, Chairo Christian School commenced more than forty years ago.
Today, Chairo is a growing non-denominational Christian school with 1,800 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.
Our mission is 'to provide excellence in Christ-centred education, in partnership with families, within a caring Christian community', while our vision is 'to see Christ's redemptive impact in the world through the capability, character and commitment of our students'. We aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.
About the Positions
We are currently seeking to appoint two Principals to commence in January 2025. These are important leadership positions, with particular responsibility for leading the staff and overseeing the smooth operation of their respective campuses in a manner that promotes a healthy Christ-centred school community.
The Principal (Drouin) is responsible for the Drouin East (Kinder to Year 4) and Drouin (Years 5 to 12) campuses, while the Principal (Pakenham) is responsible for the Pakenham (Kinder to Year 12) campus.
Each Principal will provide educational and administrative leadership and act as a mentor to staff members while fostering an environment for their continued development, leading by setting a godly example to staff members and students in teaching practice, relationships and lifestyle. They will also serve as part of the whole-school ELT (Executive Leadership Team) alongside the Executive Principal, Business Manager and Principals from the other campuses.
Requirements &
Expectations
Having obtained relevant tertiary qualifications in education and being registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, the successful candidates will be respected teachers who lead by example.
They will also possess the following important characteristics:
A genuine Christian faith, biblical foundation and active Christian lifestyle
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Chairo's Statement of Faith
Experience in an educational leadership position or substantial experience as a respected teacher
Sound knowledge of current educational practices and teaching from a Christian worldview perspective
Ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels with all members of the school community
Capacity to display developing proficiency according to AITSL standards and the areas outlined in the position description
Post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
