Principal Mine Closure Consultant

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mine Closure Consultant to join national multi-disciplinary consulting firm in Perth. It can also be based anywhere on the Australian Eastern border. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mine closure planning and implementation, with a focus on environmental management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage mine closure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement mine closure plans, including strategies for environmental rehabilitation, land reclamation, and closure cost estimation.
• Conduct site assessments and environmental impact assessments to identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and clients to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff members and project teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field;
  advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mine closure consulting or related field.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and guidelines related to mine closure.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
