A specialised Engineering Consultancy delivering innovative and sustainable water solutions is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Mechanical/Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will lead and manage complex water projects, providing technical expertise in mechanical and process engineering. This role requires a deep understanding of water treatment, distribution, and wastewater management systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical and process systems for water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and mentorship to a team of engineers and technical staff.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional recognition.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical/process engineering within the water sector.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, hydraulic systems, and mechanical equipment used in the water industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
