The Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal Geophysicist to assist with the acquisition, processing and analysis of near-surface geophysical data for our clients. This role will work from our West Perth office, as well as Offshore, allowing you to be front and centre with our project teams.

Typical geophysical methodologies include Bathymetry, Side Scan Sonar, Single Channel Seismic Reflection, Multichannel Seismic Reflection (such as HR, UHR and UUHR), Sub-Bottom Profiling, Seismic Refraction, Electrical Resistivity and Magnetics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in offshore surveys, responsible for the acquisition of high-quality geophysical data and the documentation of QC logs
  • Process data by following and optimising our digital workflows to achieve technically robust models
  • Assess/ interpret geophysical, geological and geotechnical data
  • Keep up to date with industry advancements and contribute to the development of internal geophysical processes, systems and techniques
  • Lead the team, by providing advice and guidance less experienced staff

About You

Your success in securing this role will require:

  • Degree / Higher Degree in Geophysics, Physics, Geology, Geoscience, Engineering, Geomatics or Computer Science
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good understanding of geophysical methodologies
  • Ability to assess/ interpret geophysical, geological and geotechnical data
  • Willingness to work offshore for periods of time
