Principal Consultant, Workplace Relations

  • Salary FTE:
    $130,673 to $152,772 (Plus Superannuation)

  • Usual hours of work:
    Part time (0.6 FTE- 22.8 hours per week)
  • Usual work location:
    1 Spring St, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role

The Principal Consultant, Workplace Relations is responsible for the delivery of the full range of workplace relations functions and will play a lead role in providing expert workplace relations advice and support at all levels within the department and across its portfolio agencies. A key component of the role is to manage portfolio entity enterprise bargaining by providing advice on Government policy and guidance on process.

The Team

The position of Principal Consultant, Workplace Relations forms a part of the Corporate Services Group, People and Culture Branch and Workplace Relations and Safety Team. The People and Culture Branch is a strategic, tactical and operational function, supporting the achievement of the department's objectives by providing excellent service and trusted advice. It has a clear focus on adding value to the department by supporting the Executive Board to drive Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions organisational culture through a range of strategies and initiatives.

About You

  • Proven experience, and a record of achievement, in managing complex workplace issues in a public sector environment
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining working relationships with key stakeholders
  • High level negotiation, consultation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
