Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating workshare activities across different offices.
  • Assisting the lead civil engineer in various tasks, such as participating in meetings, preparing progress reports, and ensuring compliance with checking procedures.
  • Facilitating the clarification of project scope and communicating any changes to the lead structural engineer through established project change management processes.
  • Collecting data from multiple sources and conducting engineering studies, analyses, calculations, etc., to support the development of technical solutions and recommendations, and producing final documentation for project deliverables.
  • Proactively addressing discrepancies between the Client and Customer requirements.
  • Staying informed about the latest developments and technological advancements in structural engineering.
  • Facilitating effective communication within the civil engineering team and with project stakeholders, including clients.
  • Identifying issues and challenges, devising appropriate solutions, and seeking assistance when necessary.

What you will bring

  • Possess a 2 or 3-year technical diploma with specialized training in the relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience.
  • Demonstrate several years of relevant experience in civil design within the mining, energy, and/or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing a civil design team is a prerequisite.
  • Experience in successfully delivering medium to large-scale projects within a multidisciplinary environment is desirable, though not mandatory.
  • Prior involvement in projects utilizing 3D modeling workflows is highly regarded.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in the resource sector or linear infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in civil design software such as 12D is necessary.
  • Familiarity with other design packages like Civil 3D or Inroads is advantageous and acceptable.
  • Essential prior experience in road design or large-scale earthworks projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within diverse team environments.
