The Role

In this role, you will lead and mentor junior team members, offering technical guidance to less experienced professionals. Additionally, you will approve and prepare proposals and cost estimates, assess project progress, and recommend necessary adjustments.
You will also be responsible for planning, conducting, and coordinating engineering assignments, which include multiple smaller and some high-revenue projects of varying complexity.
The Responsibilities
Execute advanced engineering design tasks on assigned projects with minimal supervision. This includes creating engineering drawings, reports, presentations, and necessary applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
Utilize advanced knowledge of current structural engineering principles and practices, staying updated on new methods and developments. Contribute to the development of new standards and specifications for bridge and civil structures design.
Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Assist in or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiations.
The Requirements
You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng)
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SPACEGASS, STRAND7
  • 10+ years of experience predominantly working for an Australian engineering design consultancy
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines within a project office environment
  • Full working rights in Australia
