Flinders Medical Centre are looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to join their busy Emergency Department and help make a difference in Southern Adelaide's local community!
Flinders Medical Centre Emergency Department is one of South Australia's largest and busiest tertiary emergency departments offering 24/7 for a variety of presentations including major multi-trauma and life-threatening medical emergencies. This emergency department is the obstetric trauma centre for South Australia and a designated state trauma centre.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Network Nursing Director, the nurse unit manager will use their clinical knowledge and experience to provide the pivotal co-ordination of patient/client care delivery. In this role, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing leadership and direction, acting as a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person.
- Managing a team and addressing inconsistencies between practice and policies/procedures.
- Maintaining productive working relationships and manage conflict resolution.
About you:
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
- Demonstrated competence in Emergency Department nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
- Experience in organisational strategic planning desirable.
