About the role

Medical Imaging nursing is a developing area of specialist practice, requiring a broad clinical knowledge in multiple clinical areas of practice including emergency, inpatient, interventional and outpatient presentations and applying this knowledge within a Medical Imaging environment ensuring continuity of patient care.

The Nurse Unit Manager, Medical Imaging accepts accountability for:

  • The outcomes of nursing practices in the Medical Imaging setting.
  • Addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.
  • Creating an environment conducive to learning.
  • Developing team performance and a positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes.
  • Material and human resource management.
  • The Nurse Unit Manager leads the nursing team and undertakes a combination of patient care area/ team leadership and resource management

This position is based at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
  • Working With Children Check (DHS)
  • Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease:
    Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
