About the role

The Intelligence Management Function (IMF) is a centralised data and analytics division to support prevention-led and client-centric decision making throughout WorkSafe.

The Manager, Recovery Analytics role leads the Recovery Analytics team to provide an independent and transparent view of performance across all areas of claims management including Recovery, Return to Work (RTW), treatment, disputation and long tail claims management.

The role is also responsible for the calculation of the Agent's service fee and incentive payments under the agent contract as well as monitoring agent performance. Further responsibilities include:

  • Developing analytics capabilities in others, and leading a team of technical specialists to provide reporting, analytics and consultative services to non-technical executive stakeholders
  • Forming an independent view of performance that is transparent &
    understood, including implications to the organisation as a whole, and includes early warning of emerging risks/opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships and proactively partnering to determine needs, agree priorities and effectively allocate team resources
  • Providing authoritative statistical and other advice and reports to business partners, stakeholders and senior management-bringing it to life in a way that influences stakeholders to drive change and achieve performance targets
  • Managing the Recovery Analytics team effectively and efficiently including assisting with analytics scoping, problem solving, complex analytics, management of priorities &
    workflow, and stakeholder communication

You are an experienced leader who wants to make a difference. You have a depth and breadth of industry experience that enables authoritative leadership of a multidisciplined team of advanced analytics professionals. Your communication and organisational skills are advanced and you have the ability to lead senior stakeholder engagement activities. You have drive, motivation, and highly refined consulting skills with a consultative nature and approach to your stakeholders and wider team. You are passionate about mentoring and guiding junior individuals, with a proactive work ethic and problem solving ability. As the Manager, Recovery Analytics you will be able to hit the ground running and possess:

  • Demonstrated experience developing analytics capabilities in others, and leading a team of technical specialists to provide reporting, analytics and consultative services to non-technical executive stakeholders
  • Understanding of organisational strategy with expert knowledge in one or more specific domains of Health &
    Safety and/or Workers Compensation
  • Ability to think strategically and distil from complex/disparate information the key analysis required to add the most value to the business
  • Ability to manage a team, including establishing team objectives, scoping projects, prioritising and scheduling activities, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring delivery
  • Experience leading business case development for analytics projects and gaining senior stakeholder agreement.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification (e.G. Statistics, Business, Computer Science, Actuarial) viewed favourably
  • Postgraduate studies viewed favourably
