About the opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and strategic HR leader who is ready to lead the HR Partnership and Advisory team. In this role you will partner within and across the organisation to ensure the delivery of human resource advice and services to support the business achieve its strategic and operational objectives.

To be successful in this role you will be a skilled HR professional with demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of the broad suite of operational HR services in a complex, legislatively framed organisation, and can demonstrate your experience as a successful business partner at all levels. An excellent communicator, you can build good relationships, are collaborative and have the skills and capability to act as a trusted business advisor.

You will be accountable for providing strategic and operational services across all aspects of the employee life cycle including recruitment, performance and case management and employee relations, while ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational policies. You will drive and implement a partnership approach in service delivery to enable executive and senior leaders across DEM to manage their workforce proactively.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of HR practices, systems and processes and strategic HRM, in a large, complex organisation, with a comprehensive understanding of the Public Sector Act 2009 and its application.
  • Demonstrated experience as a strategic leader who influences, advises and supports senior leaders on complex people and culture matters and delivers high level projects.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability to strategize, plan and collaborate effectively with people at all levels and successfully build and maintain positive working relationship with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven experience in partnering to establish effective networks and build rapport and trust-based relationships at all levels with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or Human Resources Management are desirable.

Remuneration:

Classification ASO8, $119,317 - $123,822 per annum

Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

Special Conditions:

  • This is a term vacancy up to 2 years.
  • Some out of hour's work may be required.
  • DEM encourages flexible working arrangements such as working from home, part time work, job share, compressed weeks and purchased leave. Arrangements are negotiated with the appropriate manager.
  • This position is classified as a designated position and as such, appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance screening check.
