About the Coober Pedy Office:
The Coober Pedy office in the APY lands, is a diverse office with a combination of staff that were raised in the area, staff that have moved to Coober Pedy upon taking up a position with the Department and FIFO employees. The Coober Pedy office has a strong, workplace culture of supporting one another, and maintains good partnerships with other Government and non-Government agencies in town. This collaborative way of working helps the team build strong connections with the community, including the local Aboriginal Communities it serves.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Manager for the Coober Pedy and APY Lands Offices. The Manager is accountable for the local delivery of high quality and effective outcome child protection services for families, children and young people. This involves building and fostering positive community relationships and strategic interagency partnerships, assisting in the development and effective implementation of policy and procedures, and providing effective leadership and management of others and resources. The role contributes to the strategic goals and objectives of the department and practice improvement through regional and local leadership.

We are seeking an experienced manager to lead the day to day operations of our office. The successful applicant will have:
Demonstrated experience in working with a high level of autonomy to effectively achieve positive business results.
Demonstrated experience in providing effective leadership in a challenging service delivery environment.
Demonstrated experience in achieving positive outcomes through the development and fostering of collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
Understanding of the issues involved with working with disadvantaged families and children and the complex needs of children who have experienced trauma and abuse.
Demonstrated experience in the planning, preparation and reporting of budget allocations, and effective management of this in accordance with government accounting standards, policies and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of human resources practices, asset management, and Workplace Health and Safety management.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in risk management principles and practices.
