Role Overview:
We are currently looking for Maintenance Shift Fitters for a casual assignment with our industrial bakery client located in the Adelaide northern suburbs. As a Shift Fitter, you will handle daily machine troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and collaborate with electricians, fitters, and production teams to optimize plant performance. You'll also ensure the completion of all necessary documentation. The role is initially for a 3-month term with potential for ongoing employment. The shift pattern is 4 days a week, 12-hour shifts, comprising two day shifts and two night shifts.
Responsibilities:
Engineering and Maintenance:
Perform emergency breakdown repairs on plant and equipment.
Service machinery according to schedules and PM work orders.
Minimize downtime by ensuring correct machine operation.
Engage in continuous improvement projects for engineering and processes.
Quality, Health &
Safety:
Adhere to food safety, legality, and quality requirements.
Report food safety incidents and non-conforming products.
Report hazards, incidents, and injuries promptly.
Follow all HSE policies and participate in required training.
Wear and maintain PPE and ensure work areas are safe.
Knowledge and Experience:
Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter with post-trade experience as an industrial Fitter essential.
Mechanical trade background with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in process improvement.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with a Computerised Maintenance Management System preferred.
Forklift License preferred.
Working at Heights and Confined Space Licences preferred.
