ZEN stands for ZERO Emissions Now. ZEN Energy is Australia's first energy company to have a near-term science-based emissions reduction target in line with limiting global warming by 1.5 C.

This innovative, privately-owned company holds a retail electricity licence and services sustainability-driven customers across state and local government and business. It has contracted renewable energy and environmental certificates from a significant portfolio of solar and wind farms across Australia and is actively building its firmed renewable energy supply.

The legal team is responsible for advice, negotiation and drafting a range of commercial contracts in energy (such as power purchase, energy supply, large-scale generation, tolling and capacity), development contracts and capital raising and finance transactions to support the company's rapid expansion.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a rare opening for a keen, commercially-minded lawyer with a background in energy law and/or capital raising.

You work in the M &
A, Energy or Projects team of a major law firm or inhouse and have a strong interest in expanding your energy law skillset. You may also sit in the Banking and Finance group, assisting clients in capital raisings. You have 4 to 6 years' post admission experience and want to work hard but also make a difference and have fun.

Attractive remuneration to meet the market at this level.
