About The Role

As our International Tax Principal, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring all direct and indirect tax compliance activities for Thiess' overseas entities are executed efficiently and accurately. Your responsibilities will include managing tax filings, preparing tax provision calculations, conducting tax research, and providing ongoing support to our Regional Finance Managers.

In this newly created role, you will:

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of corporate income tax returns with the assistance of external consultants.
  • Maintain transfer pricing documentation and review tax treaties to address tax issues effectively.
  • Develop governance framework and procedures for international tax compliance.
  • Assist with new country analysis and company structuring, ensuring compliance with local tax laws.
  • Assist with international assignments and other global mobility issues to ensure appropriate accounting, tax and payroll treatment.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and analyse potential impacts on the Group.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders both internally and externally, including tax authorities and accounting firms.

About You

Possessing a Bachelor of Commerce and/or Law, along with membership in either CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant), this candidate brings a formidable blend of academic prowess and professional accreditation to the table.

With over seven years of hands-on experience in tax-related roles, they have honed their expertise, particularly in the realm of cross-border tax consulting and within the complex structures of large corporate environments. Their skill set is further distinguished by a keen ability to navigate intricate legislative frameworks, ensuring compliance and optimising tax risk management.

Notably, their attention to detail is matched by exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients and colleagues alike. This candidate is poised to make significant contributions in any tax-oriented capacity, bringing an effective combination of knowledge, experience, and interpersonal skills to the forefront.
